It Transmits Too! T41-EP v12 First POTA!

My T41 v12 build and I made it out to Martial Cottle Park (US-3473) for a quick Parks-On-The-Air activation on Saturday. There’s still some bugs to work out, both in my own build and in the T41 software, but I was successful with 26 FT8 contacts in a little over an hour!

Getting my T41 v12 to calibrate and transmit has been an adventure. The hardware side is fantastic but the software hadn’t quite caught up, until now anyway. Thanks to the tireless work of Oliver King (KI3P) the T41 software calibrates for receive and transmit with automatic calibration working in most cases. You can find his current software version in his GitHub repo. A fork of that software which is configured for my kits, but may be a bit behind, is available in my GitHub repo.

Getting a headset wired up and functional is the next task, but just getting a few confirmed contacts in the log is always a great feeling on a new build. With a little luck this T41 and I will be at Castle Rock (US-1136) this Saturday (2024-12-28) around Noon PST. Look out for details on the SoftwareControlledHamRadio Groups.io.
